Renny is an incredibly versatile director combining his skills attained over forty years as an actor together with his skills as a fight director getting the action just right so as to fit the word. His clear vision coupled with his ability to allow the actors to explore every aspect of the character makes for some of the most enjoyable rehearsals, culminating in highly successful and electrically charged productions.
He has created his own theatre companies…most notably Ithaka, Broads With Swords, Bareback and Flying Fox, producing successful tours to Edinburgh and around the British Isles with his plays Lady Macbeth Rewrites The Rulebook, Katie Crowder, The Alphabet Girl, D’Eon, A Dangerous Woman and most notably Bare, a hard-hitting play exploring the underground gangland world of modern day bare-knuckle fighting for which he won the Dark Chat Best Director Award.
