Renny came to the attention of the BBC in 1986 with his play KATIE CROWDER, whereupon he was commissioned to write several half hour comedy plays. He then won the prestigious Michael Elliott award in the International Mobil Playwriting Competition with his hard-hitting drama BARE. This was followed by a commission from Oldham Coliseum for POLES APART. He created an all-female fight company for his sci-fi romp set inside a laptop fusing Playstations and Shakespeare for his hugely successful LADY MACBETH REWRITES THE RULEBOOK, which has toured all over the Country. He has written for Families, Casualty and The Bill for 3 years. He has an historical drama based on the true and bizarre life of Chevalier D’Eon de Beaumont, has two film treatments out for tender, a new TV play JUMP and a series MR. PASTRY NEVER SIGNS, a 15 minute pilot for a mobile phone 3 minute episode-a-day drama YOU’RE GORGEOUS and is currently working on a new stage play.
